College Park Alert (CPMDAlert) is a text-based notification system that will provide you with crime alerts and important information in the event of an emergency.

When an incident or emergency occurs that has an impact on the City or its residents, we will be able to deliver -- to the devices that you register here -- emergency alerts, notifications and updates. Important crime alerts from the Prince George's County Police Department and the University of Maryland Police Department will also be provided. The system may also be used to notify you of other public safety related issues. Messages are delivered via text to all wireless communications devices you register, including:

• e-mail account (work, home, other)
• cell phone
• text pager
• BlackBerry
• wireless PDA (Palm, iPAQ, etc...)

College Park alert offers CPMDAlert as a public service, free of charge, that will be used in conjunction with other public notification systems, such as Cable Channel 71, and broadcast media. It is intended for the use of City residents as well as people who work here.

Your wireless carrier may charge you a fee to receive text messages. Please check with your wireless service provider for details.
